At our plant, we have implemented a rainwater harvesting system that allows us to make the most of rainwater. Through gutters installed on the roof, the water is directed to a gravity-based filtration system, eliminating the need for electric pumps. Once filtered, the water is stored in tanks with a capacity of 75,000 liters, ready to supply the factory's cooling systems as well as the restrooms and sinks.

Solar energy is a renewable source because it comes from a natural and inexhaustible resource. For this reason, at Plastimex, we have 600 solar panels that generate electricity and help reduce our carbon footprint.

How is solar energy generated?

Solar energy can be captured through photovoltaic cells (which make up the solar panels we commonly see), heliostats, or solar collectors. These technologies convert sunlight into either solar thermal energy (through heat) or solar photovoltaic energy (through light).

Solar energy can also be harnessed passively through bioclimatic and sustainable architectural design, which maximizes the use of natural sunlight and heat within buildings.

As one of the most accessible renewable energy sources, solar power, particularly photovoltaic energy, is relatively easy to generate. This has led to its widespread adoption, especially in regions that receive a high number of sunlight hours throughout the year.

All our containers are made with virgin resin of the highest quality, ensuring they are 100% recyclable. This practice reflects the growing concern of consumers for the environment.

Virgin resin not only ensures product quality but also allows the plastic to be recycled and given a second life, contributing to a key solution for addressing future challenges.

At Plastimex, we have a wastewater treatment system that relies on the breakdown of organic matter using bacteria and enzymes. The effluent resulting from this process is used to irrigate the trees and gardens on the plant grounds, thereby contributing to reforestation with local species.
