Plastic containers and Tetra Pack containers

Plastic containers and Tetra Pack containers have gained a place in the market, even though one might think that they are competitors to each other, the reality is that they complement each other perfectly since the industry has very well defined what the packaging you use for each product.

It is necessary to clarify that we cannot enter into a discussion about which is the best container, each one has different qualities and advantages, therefore, we will try to describe them below so that the buyer can have a better final decision.

Plastic bottles

Among the most used plastics for the manufacture of containers are PET and HDPE, which stand out for their characteristics such as impermeability, chemical, thermal and impact resistance, lightness, CO2 barrier, and that they are 100% recyclable.

Generally, they are used for the packaging of carbonated beverages, water, juices, cleaners, fertilizers, chemicals, agrochemicals, and other corrosive or carbonated products.

The main reason why manufacturers prefer this option is that they are very resistant when it comes to storing and transporting different substances, their weight is very light, so the cost per trip decreases compared to other options, in addition, the price is adequate for all the advantages it offers. On the other hand, the use of plastic is harmful to the environment, however, recycling opens up possibilities to continue its use.

Tetra Pack containers

Tetra Pack containers emerged to solve the need to transport and store food, mainly milk. It turned out to be a very effective package since, made of cardboard, a resistant but environmentally friendly material, they achieved the objective.

Once the use of this packaging became popular, it was necessary to make some changes in its manufacture and add a plastic layer that protected the cardboard from moisture to prevent it from suffering damage due to the liquid contained.

This type of packaging is currently used in the food market: juices, milk, soups, purees, wines, etc. It is important to mention that, in addition to cardboard, two other raw materials play a vital role in its manufacture: aluminum and polyethylene.

The first layer of the tetra pack containers is made up of polyethylene to waterproof, the second is cardboard, and the third is placed again with polyethylene to continue with the adhesion of the aluminum layer and seal with more polyethylene to prevent the content from leaking. come into contact with the cardboard.
