Plastic and Tetra Pak containers

Tetra Pak containers are high competitors of plastic containers, these are made of cardboard, low-density polyethylene, and a small part of aluminum, they are considered ecological containers although, in their manufacture they use materials that can be considered polluting, cardboard For its part, it is made from wood.

The case that the cardboard comes from organic material has two possibilities, the first is that as it is made of a wood resin it can easily be reintegrated into the environment when it decomposes, on the other hand, we must also take into account that the wood is a non-renewable natural resource and the felling of hundreds of trees is necessary for extraction.

Tetra Pak containers are mainly used for the packaging, storage, and transport of beverages and food, it is an extremely light, relatively cheap, and resistant materials, with details that must be previously considered. Although, the polyethylene and aluminum film with which the cardboard is covered provide a layer that prevents it from being destroyed due to the humidity of the products it contains.

The products that are mainly packaged in tetra paks are juice, milk, frozen fruits and vegetables, sweets, egg whites, yogurt, and even the alcoholic beverage industry has decided to use this type of packaging for specific products of its lines.

What container to choose?
It is clear that Tetra Pak containers offer advantages and help reduce the environmental impact, however, the type of product that you have to pack is very important, in addition, consider the type of storage and transport that it will have. You must be clear that it is recommended only for certain products belonging to the food industry since in the event of an accident these are prone to bursting or spilling. You should also consider the additional investment in machinery.

If the products you handle are cleaning, chemical, agrochemical, carbonated beverages, or other similar products, we certainly recommend PET or HDPE containers, they have ideal characteristics for safely storing and transporting delicate or dangerous products.

Tetra Pak containers are a great option for certain products, however, they are containers that by their very nature, when in contact with moisture, tend to soften. At Maxipet, we suggest you opt for containers made of PET or HDPE, since They are resistant, economical, and safe, and they are also 100% recyclable, that is, they can be reused to make more bottles or other products.
