Characteristics of high-density polyethylene

High-density polyethylene is a petroleum-based polymer and one of the most used plastics for the creation of all kinds of articles. Due to its chemical and physical composition, it can be used in a large number of different industries. It is also known as HDPE.

Endurance

One of the characteristics of high-density polyethylene that stands out the most is its resistance. It is a strong and hard material, therefore very resistant, but it is flexible enough for making toys, containers, bottles, caps, toys, etc. It may also be used to contain hazardous or corrosive materials such as acids, pesticides, etc. It also supports both high and low temperatures. Its composition makes its lifetime extended.

Nontoxic

Another characteristic that makes it one of the preferred by the industry is that it is a non-toxic material, therefore, the manufacture of HDPE objects and containers that are intended to safeguard and protect food or drugs safely.

Weightlessness

HDPE is a very light material and combined with the benefits of impact resistance, this translates into savings in time and power when transporting any product made out of this material.

Recycling

High-density polyethylene is a 100% recyclable material, so for its use as bottles and containers, it is a viable option if behind it there is a waste separation strategy to avoid contamination and culture oriented towards this type of practice so that the objective can be met.

A huge variety of applications

Although many articles are made of PETHDPE has a larger number of applications, the first has been dedicated more to the packaging industry, although it is not exclusive either, for high-density polyethylene it is the opposite, its applications are numerous due to its great versatility, for example, one of the most common uses is in the construction industry for the manufacture of pipes resistant to corrosives and leaks for a long duration.

Are high-density polyethylene containers safe?

Indeed, they perform exceptionally in the packaging of food, drugs, chemicals, agrochemicals, and other liquid or viscous products. Our fully airtight caps prevent contents from leaking.
